Significance Of The
Blue Lotus
The Blue Lotus flower is a powerful symbol of enlightenment, wisdom, and transformation. In ancient cultures, the blue lotus was considered a sacred plant and it was revered for its ability to promote deep introspection, spiritual awakening, and emotional healing. Often depicted in art and mythology, it represents the unfolding of the soul, much like how the petals of the lotus bloom above murky waters—symbolizing the journey from adversity to self-actualization.
At Blue Lotus Mental Health Counseling PLLC, we embody these principles—helping you rise above life’s challenges to find peace, clarity, and your true purpose. Whether you are seeking support for mental health struggles, personal growth, life transitions or spiritual alignment, we are here to guide you on your path to self-actualization.

Our Research Based Philosophy
Dr. Jen completed a large scale, (n = 104) randomized controlled trial of equine-assisted mental health counseling versus treatment as usual and found that participants in the equine-assisted condition had precipitous declines in anxiety, depression and posttraumatic stress symptoms at 10 weeks post treatment superior to those in the regular treatment condition. We continue to review the latest research studies, and integrate our own first-hand clinical knowledge to inform our therapy practice.
Our Treatment Model
We believe that living a healthy life acknowledges that we are interconnected with animals and nature. Reconnecting provides opportunities for communication and healing at a deeper level. Our treatment model acknowledges the unique attributes and strengths of each individual animal, just like each person with whom we work.
Our therapy animals provide insights, co-regulation of emotions, and support clients during sessions to integrate trauma experiences, understand their nervous system and live in the present moment.
Consent, safety and freedom of choice are at the heart of all interactions with our clients and animals. This facilitates safety, exploration, play and meaningful transformation.
